Benchmark Promotes Webb and Robinson-White

October 17, 2017 - Benchmark Community Bank is pleased to announce the promotions of two South Hill veterans to new leadership positions within the bank’s management team.

Vice President/Branch Manager John Webb has assumed a new position as Vice President/Regional Manager overseeing operations for five branches in the southeastern area of the bank’s geographical footprint. Based in South Hill, Webb works directly with branches in Blackstone, Crewe, Kenbridge, Lawrenceville, and South Hill in addition to supporting consumer lending for Benchmark’s North Carolina operations.

Vice President/Assistant Branch Manager Tammy Robinson-White has succeeded Webb as Vice President/Branch Manager of the bank’s South Hill branch. A Benchmark banker since 1993, Robinson-White’s promotion caps a career that began as a paying/receiving teller.

"We are exceedingly proud of both John and Tammy and the contributions each makes to their respective areas of responsibility," said Benchmark President/CEO Jay Stafford in making the announcement. "The seamless nature of their transition has ensured that our South Hill customers will continue to receive the level of service they’ve come to expect from Benchmark. We can only attribute that to the professionalism and sincere customer care exhibited by Tammy and John."

A 1997 graduate of James Madison University with a major in History, Webb embarked on his banking career as a telephone banker in 1998 and has worked his way through the banking industry ranks. He completed the Virginia Banking Association School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia in 2016 and was named in July 2016 as Branch Manager for Benchmark’s South Hill location, as well as Area Manager to include South Hill, Victoria, and Lawrenceville.

"I like working with people and situations that need solutions," Webb said of his banking career. "My time as a telephone banker taught me to listen to what people say so I can hear their needs and make recommendations that work for them. I am excited to have the opportunity to hear from the broader audience about how Benchmark can provide guidance for their financial needs."

A native of Drakes Branch, Robinson-White has called South Hill "home" since the age of 17 and graduated from Park View the following year. She completed studies in Human Services at Southside Virginia Community College in 1988.

"I’ve spent half of my life at Benchmark and worked in every area of retail banking," Robinson-White said. "My educational background is experience, a love for people, and how I’ve worked with our customers to meet their needs. Benchmark’s philosophy of finding a way to meet customer needs is a unique way to do banking and fits within my personal philosophy of providing dedicated, committed customer service."
