The Farmville Jaycees are looking for new members between the ages of 21 and 40. If you are interested, the organization currently meets the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at The Café at Poplar Hall. Please visit the Jaycees' Facebook page to learn more about the organization.

Announcements

Join the Moton Museum on Mondays from noon to 1 p.m. for their Brown Bag Lunch Series. The free series features guest speakers, authors, films and performances, open dialogue and engaging discussions around local history, current events and more. Also, Mondays at the museum are known as Moton Mondays with free admission all day.

On the first Tuesday of each month, Burger King (located at 1004 South Main Street) will donate 20% of their proceeds to Habitat for Humanity. Stop by for dinner from 5:00 - 9:00 PM to show your support.

Residents and businesses within the town and Prince Edward County can sign up for CodeRED, an emergency alert system. Examples of alerts include severe weather warnings, evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, and missing child reports. Alerts can be sent out via text message, e-mail, or telephone. To sign up, visit the CodeRED website or call 392-2114.
