About our involvement in the community:

The Lawrenceville branch gets more community oriented all the time. In 2006, Esther Sanderson, who has been a familiar face at the branch since it opened in 2000, was promoted to branch manager. Just prior to that promotion, she was elected to the Lawrenceville Town Council, a position she decided to run for because of her sincere desire to help this quaint little town - her hometown - grow and thrive. She works tirelessly at both positions and was just re-elected to serve another term on the council. She is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Coordinating Council for Brunswick County.

Esther encourages her staff to give back to the community as well. And they do. They belong to the local Ruritan Club, the Rotary Club, for which Scott Neher served as president in 2006, and volunteer for various youth sports organizations including the Babe Ruth Baseball League. Kelly helps her husband with a t-ball team in Greensville County, and Philip serves as the secretary of a local hunting club.

When it comes to special events, they are very generous with their time. Most staff members regularly volunteer to help out with the Beef and Dairy Festival, Taste of Brunswick Festival, the Spring Fest/Brickyard 5-mile Run, girls' softball, Dixie Youth baseball, and Boy Scouts.

The branch also makes monetary contributions and gift donations to a variety of civic and youth organizations.

Stay tuned. You are likely to hear even more about Lawrenceville's community involvement in the months to come.
