Many people these days prefer to carry "plastic" rather than cash. There are many advantages. Recognizing this growing trend, Benchmark offers its customers the opportunity to apply for and/or purchase Visa® cards for various uses. They include:
To help our customers get the most out of card usage, Benchmark participates in rewards programs associated with both the debit and credit cards. These programs are evaluated by the bank before being implemented to make sure they are truly rewarding for our customers!
Here's how each card works:
The Benchmark Visa Debit or Check Card
Can be used in many ways.
The Benchmark Visa® Check Card makes accessing your checking account easy! When you use it to make purchases, the deduction comes right out of your account. You can choose two types of transactions, PIN-based or signature-based. You can also use it online.
The Visa® Check Card also doubles as your ATM card. Use it to withdraw funds from your checking or savings account, even transfer funds between accounts. Withdrawals are always free at Benchmark ATMs. You will be charged fees at other ATM locations.
As with all of your finances, you should guard your Visa® Check Card but it is safer than carrying cash. Visa's Zero Liability policy helps protect you from unauthorized use of your card or account information.
It pays to use it!
All credit or signature-based transactions with your Visa® Check Card earn points which can be redeemed for a wide variety of merchandise, travel, gift cards, and services through our Rewards! program. You can check your points by calling 1-866-678-5189 and selecting option #1 or by visiting our Rewards! site.
It's safe to use.
Verified by Visa is an online fraud prevention service that gives our Visa cardholders an extra layer of security when shopping online. Verified by Visa is free and easy to use. The service confirms your identity with an extra password when completing an online transaction.
When you make purchases with your Benchmark Visa® at participating online stores, your identity will be verified before the purchase is completed. This gives you added safety and reassurance that only you can use your Benchmark Visa® online. Register your card today!
It's easy to get.
To get a Check Card, you must first have a Benchmark checking account. Generally, you will be offered the card at account opening. If you already have a checking account but did not, for any reason, get a card and would like one now, contact us and we will start the process. To report a lost or stolen check card, please call 1-800-528-2273.
Benchmark Visa Gift/Travel Card
Available in amounts from $25 to $500, the Visa® gift card is the perfect alternative to giving cash or checks. These cards are convenient and accepted anywhere that other Visa® cards are welcome. The pre-paid Visa® card is also a great choice for travel. Unlike traveler's checks, for which you pay an upfront fee as well as surcharges for certain use, the cost of a pre-paid Visa card is minimal. A small fee applies when the card is issued and then it is just like using cash. Contact us for details on how to purchase.
